Sutton Coldfield Squash Club News - April 2024

Dear members,

As you may know, we are currently in the renewal period, and I would like to encourage those who haven't renewed yet to sign up for the new membership year. It's important for us to retain our membership base, and efforts are underway to attract more members to join us at the club.

A friendly reminder that our membership referral offer is currently active. If you know anyone eager to join the squash club, please spread the word. Both you and the new member will receive a £25 court credit offer, provided you're in the Full/Veteran category.

We're also offering a 3-month trial option with the choice to pay monthly via direct debit.

Additionally, we have discounts available for family/multiple memberships (10% off combined membership).

I'd like to extend a special thank you to one of our members, Chris McMillan, for generously sponsoring the Internal Leagues. A big shout-out to Chris and PQAL, our sponsors.

As you're aware, sponsorship plays a crucial role in boosting the club's revenue streams, and we're eager to maximize this opportunity.

To facilitate this effort, we've created a Google Form for members to express interest or provide contacts of companies willing to offer sponsorship

The link to the form is here: https://forms.gle/XKgKStKCWzZEttzK8

We have several updates regarding coaching and courses at the club.

Next week marks the beginning of the new Internal Team Squash League, starting on April 11th. This innovative concept is being introduced to the club, and I'm eager to see how the teams perform. More information will be sent out in the coming days once the teams have been announced. Special thanks to Chris Hall for leading this initiative, which has been successfully trialed at clubs like Leamington.

We also have upcoming Squash 101 and Racketball courses starting on the week beginning April 22nd. Please contact Chris if you know anyone keen to participate, and help us spread the word to those who may be interested. Details are provided in the image below

The Warwickshire Squash Leagues concluded in mid-March, yielding positive results as our first team clinched the league title and earned promotion to Division 1. While the third team unfortunately faced relegation, we extend a heartfelt thanks to all players who contributed to the season's efforts. We eagerly anticipate participation in the upcoming Warwickshire Squash Summer League; stay tuned for announcement of dates.

Additionally, the Racketball leagues have also concluded, with our first team securing a commendable 5th place finish. Once again, a big thank you to all racketball players who represented the club in the league

Congrats to Harry Stevens who is the Player of the Month for March based on Squash Levels data.

Well done to the other members of the 'Top 5' who have all had impressive rises in the month of March.
