Dear All,
On behalf of the committee, I want to express our deepest sadness and heartfelt condolences following the passing of Mike Tipper. This news has come as a great shock and loss to all of us, and we know how much this will be felt across our club community. Mike was more than just a familiar face — he was a true friend to many and a cherished part of our shared club life.
Mike was a beloved and dedicated member of our club for many years, having been part of the club for nearly 30 years. His warmth, sense of humour, and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He wasn’t just present; he was involved, and he cared deeply about the people and the club.
Whether through friendly conversation, laughter at the bar, or leading our annual Christmas Carol singing — a role he took on with characteristic enthusiasm — Mike had a remarkable way of bringing people together. His ability to lift spirits and create a sense of togetherness made him an irreplaceable part of the fabric of our club. He helped define the atmosphere we all value and was often at the heart of what made this club feel like home.
The club simply won’t be the same without him. His passing leaves a significant void, not just in our day-to-day interactions, but in the spirit and character of the club as a whole. Yet even in our sadness, we know that the memories Mike created and the friendships he formed will continue to live on. His influence will remain, quietly but meaningfully, in the culture and community he helped build. We were truly fortunate to have known him.
Our thoughts are with his wife Denise, his family, and all who loved him during this incredibly difficult time. We hope they can take some comfort in knowing how much Mike meant to so many, and how fondly he will be remembered by all of us here.
