Strong Start for Sutton Coldfield 1st Team – 5–0 Opening Win!

Dear Members,

I’m delighted to share that our 1st Team made the perfect start to the season last night with a 5–0 win!

The night began with Omar, our young Egyptian player, taking on Hamish Falconer. Omar made a fantastic debut for Sutton, winning confidently 3–0 (11–5, 11–4, 11–7).

Next up, Haroon played at No. 5 against Leo Ware. After taking a tight opening game 13–11, Haroon dropped the second 3–11 before regrouping to win the next two 11–9, 11–9 — taking the tie 3–1.

We then had a real Loughborough vs Birmingham flavour to the evening. First, Joe (Loughborough) faced Keira (Birmingham), coming out firing to win 3–0 (11–1, 11–9, 11–4).

That theme continued as Caleb (Loughborough) met Alex Beloborodov (Birmingham). Keen to impress on his Sutton debut, Caleb made a fast start with an 11–4 opener and followed up strongly to win 3–0 (12–10, 11–5).

The final match saw the first strings take to court, with Rhys Evans up against Tayne Turmock. After some great rallies, Rhys came through solidly to win 3–0 (11–6, 11–5, 11–5).

A brilliant all-round performance and a great first win for Sutton Coldfield!
